The father, the son...
Jul. 29th, 2001 12:33 pmOdd Angel bunny - what if Spike had been the one ensouled a hundred years ago and then turned up in Sunnydale?
We'd have the childe, the redeemer, and the vengeful father/Sire (whom I'd think Spike would try to get ensouled as well, the bloody ponce), and Drusilla the holy ghostess? <giggle> Perhaps she is mad because she has a soul as well - a prophetic soul that drove her mad.
Xander would be mixed up in there somewhere, disciple or love interest for Spike, and, well I did love that hyena-spirit episode. Grr-Xander is a lovely thing. And Angelus just might be trying to woo the Slayer anyway, as an insurance policy.
I don't think Spike would be as weighed by his deeds as Angel - he didn't have a hundred years of rampaging through Europe by that point. What's a decade or two when you've had a hundred years to make up for it? It'd likely make more like the first season of Angel, only with Spike playing Angel, and Drusilla taking the Oracle's part. Of course, with Drusilla, half the time they'll be figuring out her mutterings after the fact.
This sort of thing makes me pound my head on my desk - I need to see the source material first, dammit! It's all speculation at this point - I've only got a half a dozen episodes that I've seen here and there... September is looking better and better - new house, two sets of Buffy tapes, and FX playing them all again in syndication.
ObWhine: Can I move yet and get this over with?
