Tubs and boxes
Sep. 3rd, 2001 10:16 pmI need to remember to set up my alarm clock again - I'd almost packed it at the last minute.
Moving, moving, moving - keep those boxes moving...
And I've got a whip to crack on top of it all. I'll need to find an appropriate wall for it.
So I've pretty much gotten my old living room cleared out, and I'll start another carload of the shit downstairs tomorrow. If I keep this up, I should have all the small stuff out of here in no time. The kitchen can go once the fridge at the new place is in - likely Wednesday or Thursday.
I'm a little miffed that everything's not ready, that I'm not able to just move and be done with it all, but it's easier this way too - I'll have time on both sides to sort and discard, and pare down the collections of crap that I've managed to accumulate. Pack rat.
Up in Vancouver next weekend, and then I'll need to rent a truck or something and get the bed and my dresser and a few other thigns that won't fit in the car the weekend after that, because the third weekend I'll be in Atlanta, and that's way too late.
I'm getting my exercise, that's for damn sure - 30 steps up, carrying 25-30 pounds, 30 steps down, repeat 15 times. That's just one car load.
One wall of shelves is up, and I've unpacked the paperbacks A-B. They were the only ones that were alphabetized, so the rest I'll need to sort as I put them up. My closet is clean, and I'm beginning to suspect it's larger inside than I'd supposed. There's no place for anything full length, though, which is extremely vexing. I may have to hit Lori up for some closet space after all.
John, Meg, Rhonda and I all went hottubbing tonight, so my back (and my brain) have been reduced to the consistency of a wet noodle. Yay me... <snore>
