Nsync in Star Wars
Jan. 4th, 2002 08:21 amThere's some hullabaloo about this - virulent naysayers and cheering fans. Wil Wheaton, and Harry Knowles checked in on it.
And you know what? The naysayers are bugging me. I mean, I'm a fan of both Star Wars and Nsync, and really, is it that big a deal? They'll be in the background, unrecognizable, dying. They got a cameo. Good for them. Will it affect my viewing one way or another? Probably not. (Setting aside all of the AU bunnies with Nsync Jedi, but honestly, I already had them.)
But no - apparently it is a big deal. Lucas is prostituting himself yet again, Nsync is using their incredible pull in the media to get their faces plastered into yet another gig, and this is all gonna be worse than Jar-Jar.
Now, really, people. You honestly think Nsync is worse than Jar-Jar? Feh. You have no taste. Jar-Jar is one of the Seven Abominations of the modern world. Save the vituperative comments for him.
Humor and sarcasm aside, there's enough hate in the world. It saddens me to see people add to it over a minor cameo in (admit it) a second-rate movie.
