Random factoids

1) I was born at home, with a midwife and a doctor attending. No hospitals for this little blonde duck. (Only, I had black hair when I was born, which all fell out and came back in blonde.)
2) I started taking swimming lessons at the extremely young age of 6 months. I don't swim like a fish, but only because I can't breathe water.
3) My brother - my two-years-younger-brother! and I were constantly being mistaken for twins when we were younger. Thankfully, it stopped by the time I hit high school. (Also, once his voice changed, people could finally tell us apart when we spoke on the phone.)
4) The trilogy that got me hooked on Sci-Fi and Fantasy is the Harper Hall trilogy by Anne McCaffrey.
5) The very first cassette I owned, Billy Joel's Storm Front, was given to me by my parents. It turned out to be prophetic - I wanted it for 'We Didn't Start the Fire', and I burnt down my kitchen not two years later.
6) I had a full-ride scholarship to my college, provided I major in Chemistry. (They liked my essay about burning down the kitchen - just getting all my lab accidents out of the way early.) After flunking Organics 2 in favor of a social life, I changed my major to Math and lost the scholarship.
7) None of my cats were mine from kittenhood. I got custody of two of them by breaking up with my ex-boyfriend, who'd gotten custody of them from his ex, and the third was a stray someone else picked up, and I agreed to take care of him temporarily. I'm their evil stop-mother.
8) I have been to four concerts, ever: the Mamas and the Papas, MeatLoaf, White Zombie, and Jingle Bell Bash '01. A drunk guy dumped his beer on me while his wife hit on my dad at the Meatloaf concert, and my car broke down on the way home from White Zombie.
9) The first fandom I stumbled over was Xena and Hercules, but I start writing until I found Lois&Clark,which I consider to be my first fandom.
