The dispersion patterns of fandom amuse me sometimes.
Take, for instance, the Secret Diaries of Lord of the Rings by CassieClaire They hit LiveJournal in late December, and I think I got pointed to them a few days after they were up.
A little more than a month later, and they've wandered out of RPS, out of slash-dom, and hit the mainstream. I saw them posted to Sith Academy last week, and they're debating the humor or lack thereof (not everyone is quite getting the whole slash thing wherefrom it originates) in rec.arts.sf.fandom
