Apr. 7th, 2003 12:20 pmI was up 'til 1 last night reading, so I'm feeling more than a little spacey today, even after two mugs of tea and a bit of lunch.
We just finished the second of two inventory classes today, so that now I know exactly how much my boss slacks when it comes to tagging and reporting things (we're supposed to tag and report within 24 hours of receipt, and ah, he doesn't) and how much I've really needed to do for the last two years, and just haven't known it. The whys and wherefores are good to know, they make me more likely to comply if I know why and the negative consequences of non-compliance.
So, reporting good, inventory good, audits bad. Our instructor is one of the main Inventory people on campus, and she was pretty good - kept me entertained with interjections of examples. Turns out the Hospital proper is a walking audit flag - they haven't done inventory in 20 years. I've heard stories of some of their people problems - vague rumblings of discontent that make me glad I'm attached to the academic side of things.
Hell's down/unreachable for me, so that kills any other distractions for me. I don't think I have enough brainpower left over to read. I suppose I'll do work, then, and pray for a nap when I go home.
