I'm always a bit squirrelly about talking about things in progress, because I never know everything that's going on, and things change so quickly. I do bitch to those around me, and if you're near me, you will hear something of what's going on, but when it's all done and finished, I'm in a daze, and I don't want to think about it anymore. It's done, right? Time to move on.

This is still the tangled middle. I've been bouncing calls back and forth between me and my real estate agent, and me and the various entities of mortgage-type bank peoples. First it was the number of cats (Listing Agent said they were ok, but didn't mention that only one was accepted by the condo association: I lied and said Lori would take them if necessary), then it was the timeline (Internet apps weren't going to be able to close by the end of the month: switched to a local processing center), and the final news from the Seller's side of things is that they like my offer better because I asked for a super-quick closing, but they need at least the pre-approval (hence the mad scramble to find my paystubs, which I just 'happened' to have on hand)

And all this personal crap is smack dab in the middle of a security scramble, trying to clean up after the RPC vulnerability that we didn't patch in time led to 19 of our machines being hacked.

I'm going to scramble downstairs really quick to let MCIS deal with a few things down there, and then run to the IMA and let my mind rest while my muscles work.

God, where was I?

Oh yeah: super-freaky-squirrelly-nuts. Still am, but it's more the eye of the storm (can a storm have more than one eye?)

I just finished faxing back the counter-offer. Full-price, some costs seller-paid. I talked to Dad, and it looks like there is some money I can get from my grandfather for the downpayment (3% is soooo much less intimidating a number than 20%, let me tell you) so the financing looks good.

And... well, barring disaster, the seller will accept, I'll get a letter of acceptance, and I'll start alternately bugging my mortgage person and bribing her with chocolate, while alternately bugging my Dad and offering him tech-support. And freaking out about packing and moving, but by now that part's second nature. 12th move in 12 years. Time to stop for a few.

I'm also rather grateful that I'm not taking classes now. I'd be a complete basket case by the end of the month. This'll work out - I can get my squawking little ducks all herded up and reapply for next year, well away from any home-buying distractions.

Hee! I'll also get two parties out of this! My birthday party on the 16th, and a housewarming party next month! By the pool! Sweet! Pirate-themed. Or hula-themed. Or something. Kasha? Ideas?

PS By the way, I'm thinking bike-related things will not go amiss as birthday presents. I need a little rack in the back, or baskets or something. Or a new bike. (I'm just sayin'!) Also, house-warming presents such as shelves, also welcome (I've got pretty much everything else) Or a new stereo. If you need ideas. Or teacups. I'll never turn down a nice teacup. (Please keep in mind that while I consider the half-sphere to be the perfect shape for a teacup bowl, I will drink tea from most anything. As long as it's pretty.)

In short: bike stuff, shelves, teacups. Or anything you think I'll fancy. Or nothing. I'm more than okay with that, too.
