*snerk* New morning, new book, and usually the hardest part of an O'Brian is slogging thorugh the 'Jack is a completely oblivious, unlucky fool on land' bit at the beginning, but Fortune of War starts off with a port visit in the middle of a voyage, so it isn't too bad, and then on page 20 I find this gem.

My houseguests were off yesterday morning - they were lovely guests, very considerate, and I'd have them again. Plus, getting Dru to do things for me is always a bonus.

Odd dreams this morning - I was possessed by a demon, and fighting him/it off, trying to keep people away from me, while hinting that hey, maybe an exorcist might not be a bad idea. There was a candle, and I had to make sure it didn't burn out before time, otherwise the demon would be let loose after my death.

And of course, the cats woke me up before any of this could be resolved.
