Nov. 16th, 2004 05:03 pmLast night I dreamed that I got on the train to California, and then because it was taking too long to leave, got off so I could catch it at another stop down the line.
Later in the dream logic kicked in and I realized I'd missed Thanksgiving with my family. Ah, anxiety dreams. Gotta love 'em.
Oof - today has not gone well. Woke up with a headache and got to work late, only to realize that I'd missed an hour's worth of the training class I need for HIPAA. Stupid HIPAA. Tired and headachey all day. Stupid cold.
I'm feeling vastly underprepared for Thanksgiving - mostly because I've been slackish about cleaning up my condo. Also, the two 24-hour periods on the train worry me. I'm wondering if it's worth it to see if I can add the sleeper car to my fare at this late date: a secure, private area to sit and leave my stuff if I go wandering, a bed for the night, and most importantly: meals included. It'll be pricey, but unless I bring my own food, I'd be eating in the dining car anyway. Plus, wine tasting in the afternoon! Whee!
I think I'll call Amtrak when I get home and have the tickets in front of me.
