Aug. 1st, 2005 11:57 amI should be diving into my piles and piles of work that I've just been presented with, but... nah. I just waded through 2 weeks of emails. It can wait a bit.
Let's see: Friday date. He was late, but I had my new Belisarius book and just parked my butt outside the restaurant and read in the sun. Not a hardship, really. 15 minutes, and traffic and a late meeting goes a long way towards an explanation. Still... So he arrives and looks only superficially like his picture, and he's just not my type, physically. The shallow strikes again.
We talk and he's obviously both loving his job and devoted to it, and enthusiastic, and wow, can we change the subject already? You're a workaholic, I get it. Comics and Due South and gaming, and ok, you're a geek. Shiny.
Conclusion: Nice guy, good friend potential, crap dating material (no sparkage, no time to spend on *me*.)
Saturday was Lori's birthday dinner, and while I had no problem getting to the restaurant, she should maybe not schedule something in Belltown on SeaFair weekend. What with the Traffic with a capital T. Both drunken and sober karaoke followed, and while fun, a relaxed barbeue is more my speed. (and volume level)
Sunday: Highland Games. Deb and I trekked down to the fairgrounds, which are supposedly in the same county, but I'm convinced they're in the next state. Bus to downtown, meet Deb, bus to Auburn, shuttle to the fairgrounds in Enumclaw. Wow, was it hot. Hot and sunny. And no period swimming holes in which to jump.
Hotblond in leather pants was hanging out with the cast of Seattle Knights while they were putting on a show - stage fighting, but the banter was fun - I can't find him on their website, so he might just have been a friend-of, but man, was he pretty! He doesn't know it yet, but he's joined my fantasy harem. Then, as many other times yesterday, did I regret not bringing my camera.
