I had a lovely weekend - Ali's bachlorette party Saturday night (wherein I sang karaoke and neither died nor killed anyone else's eardrums... though I can't say so much for one of the other singers.) Sunday I finally gave into the lure of the Book Sale and trotted over... only to find that it wasn't open at 9am on a Sunday, and instead dug in my garden for a wee bit (2 hours) until it did open. Things were, as expected, picked-over, but it was a nice, small haul.
Quick run down to the store for the ingredients, and then I got the Sinful Spinach & Artichoke dip done just in time for Heather and Phil to pick me up for the SOK shindig/bbq at Drak&Joi's. Met a couple more people I'd gamed with in WoW - SOK continues to delight and amaze me. I finished up Gordon's hat as we arrived, though it could stand a few more noodles, and no one has posted the pictures of it yet. Again, I finish a project and have no proof!
The baby blanket for our receptionist at work is almost done, and I have the next bus-project lined up. More stash-decreasing instead of ordering more yarn. I feel so virtuous, and yet unfulfilled without the yarn-shopping. I'll just stare at the selections on elann.com some more.
I jetted home from work at lunch today, ready to hang out for a couple hours waiting for the pods to be dropped, but they showed just as I did, so I won't have to make up the hours at work at least. I've got two shiny storage pods to fill up with my books and winter clothes and the lot. *sigh* It's the first step towards seeing my living room floor (among other things) and I have until next Monday to decide exactly how spartan I'm willing to live. For at least the next 6 months or so. Ideally, I'd move into a bigger place, but I'm unsure how realistic that is as yet.
It is perhaps indicative, that one of the books I got yesterday, is a book of house plans. Which will go on the shelf by my bed that for other people would probably contain porn. Because really, most of my porn is on the computer anyway. Well, except for the house porn. And the flower porn. And the yarn porn... nope, computer there, too.
And people wonder about internet addictions.
