The Pull of the Novel
May. 18th, 2006 06:48 pmIt happens sometimes, that a book sits on the shelf for a number of months, waiting patiently for me to read it. This happens more often with books in a series, as I usually go back and read the whole thing in one huge chunk.
Such is the case with the Liaden Migration Duology - I'd had the first for a while, and the second came in, but I wasn't much in the mood for space opera, or some such nonsense. Monday, I was thanking my lucky stars that the Liaden series was one that I'd left out of the Great Packing and I've been devouring my way through Pilot's Choice, Partners in Necessity and Plan B. Only, I just finished Plan B at work, and came home to dive into I Dare...
*WAAAAAAHHH!* I can't find it!
I'm mortally certain I didn't pack it, and I'm equally certain I've read it - there's scenes and themes I remember that I haven't tripped over in the books, and it's the only one left! Wah!
*sigh* I'm just going to have to run back to the UDistrict and buy it. Now. Tonight.
And then I'll finish it before midnight, but I still have the Duology for tomorrow!
