Blue (Man? Men? Man.) Man Group
Feb. 3rd, 2007 12:52 amWell, I got lost in Everett (managed to head east on 2 instead of turning into downtown for the venue) and I was late, but opening act: eh.
The BMG though, was awesome. I was cheering and laughing, and only a little bit was for my little cousin Morgan, who was wooing the row of young ladies behind us. He's 3 and already collecting a harem. Big ole ear-muff-protector things, tufts of hair sticking up oddly, and charming them by offering single bits of popcorn.
That was just the tip of the iceberg. I had a floor seat, so a really good view, and the show was great. Then we waited after and got in on some meet&greet thing - a few other of Whit's friends showed (an old bf and his wife and child, and another group.) and we got to meet a few of the band and two of those dudes in actual blue. They're so serious-looking on stage, but they were smiling after.
And then we toddled (one of us literally, Ama's only 1 1/2) off to the dressing room, and I got to sit and chat with Whit and Puck and watch their two kids just charm the pants off the entire cast and crew. (or at least all three Blue Men and at least half the band and what members of the crew that drifted through.) Whit's Mom-dom has not reduced her cool factor, and I'm in love with her kids. And the BMG folk are pretty awesome in their own right. :)
Random observations: the amount of organization required for the tour is amazing - 6 trucks, everything numbered, color-taped, its all got its place and those guys breaking it down are *fast*. The food in the dressing rooms is good, but there's too much of it. I had half a dozen people ask me if I wanted to take anything home, and I just regretted not bringing any tupperware. One of the band members was talking about altering the rider, just because there an entire veggie/cheese tray that hadn't been touched, so it's not like they don't care about waste.
Note to self: send Whit and Morg more asp. pickles. They liked 'em!
