Arrrrr!

So my research elbow got jogged by the second viewing of PotC, and the desire to sort of pin down the dating of the movie (and the sudden crossover with the Three Musketeers at the end) (As much as one can with a movie based one a *ride*. Thanks, Lori.)

We start with a Short History of Tortuga, move onto Port Royal, Jamaica and detour slightly to Sir Henry Morgan, a pirate of note who became the deputy governor of Jamaica, and played rather a large part in the histories of both towns.

I'm thinking mid 1670s, maybe 1680s. Charles II was king of England, Louis XIV king in France. (It is, it *is* the Musketeers!)

WHEE! Thank you *so* much! I was thinking about trying to figure out what year this was set in, just to *know*, but of course I hadn't even the slightest idea of where to start.

And if Jack, Will and Elizabeth were Musketeers, which one would be which?

(Also, Jack could totally be a governor. Barbosa called him the governor of the deserted rum island! Foreshadowing! Just the idea of Jack in charge of anything amuses me greatly. *bee hee hee*)
