"CNN) -- "Jurassic Park III" wisely pretends that the second wildly
successful but creatively limp "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" (1997) never took place. "

Boy, doesn't this sound familiar?

Wasn't the answer 42? So, which 42 Immortals are going to be the finalists? Duncan and Conner, bien sur, and Methos, because a 5000 year winning streak is hard to beat. Hrmm... 39 to go.

The Giles/QuiGon piece has made it into my WIP disk. Yeah, the one I forgot at home yesterday. Ah well, it's not as if I don't have things to do here.

In between wanting to kick a recalcitrant computer, I did a little educating earlier. I had cracked the case, and was trying to install a new network card (hex screws suck, btw) and the girls at the CT reception desk had never seen the inside of a computer before. 'Wow' I said to myself, but hey - let's go to. So I pointed out memory and mother board and hard drive and video card and here's the modem, it's built in as part of the motherboard... I think I may have been pointing at the network slot, but it was down there, hiding in a badly designed case.

They were kind of surprised at how much of the case was empty space. And yeah, I remember lots of empty space, back to my dad's XT. Laptops don't have that, but you pay for the miniaturization and the squishing that goes on.

And I mentioned my brother in connection with learning computers early on, so they of course asked me if he's doing the same thing as I am. <snort> Not hardly. It's a great conversation piece though: 'Oh, no, he's a Peace Corps Volunteer in Africa.' I love talking about him - we're different in many ways, but I'm so proud of him, and it leaks every once in a while.

Lame duck? No, not quite...

And I'm not quite fishy enough when it all comes down to it. I'll take the otter and be happy about it.

My left arm hurt today - I decided to cut my swim short when it didn't disappear after my warmup. Still passing old ladies while doing the breaststroke. Sheesh. Hello? Slow lane?

Mutter.

Oh. Moment of epiphany here - low blood sugar=pissy Misha. I need to go eat something. 'scuse.
