I hit the power button instead of the snooze button this morning, and 9 minutes turned into about an hour and a half. Oops.
No shower, automatic bad hair day, a long wait for the bus, and I still don't think anyone noticed. I'm not waking up well, haven't had my little sneak off for a breakfast sandwich yet, but that may be the dream still tumbling through my head.
I was at Carden, those long rows of buildings connected by covered walkways. I spent ten years there, and now it's like my subconscious can't film two dreams without using the Carden set for one of them. I was dealing with a lot of things - Laurier had a broken jaw, and I was trying to get him to the vet ASAP, I had beading and crosstitching projects that were part of some vast Plan (not quite a Conspiracy), that I had to locate and finish, and then I had to save the teachers and some subset of the people at the school from the raging hordes of mind-controlled students.
It becomes very surreal when the people tumble out into the courtyards, and I tell my sleeping brain that due to my superpowers, I'm going to jump to the roof and escape unseen - the people ignore me as if I were on the roof, but the scene doesn't change. I know I'm running along the roof, but the vision component is still stuck on the ground floor, in the middle of the crowds.
Later, once I'd freed some of the teachers, we had to deal with an idiot hacking up the leafy bower of a sleeping statue that caused earthquakes every time she turned over. Boot to the head for the idiot, and then we stuck the statue in a Japanese Tea Garden.
Side note: should pemberley.com go under the fan links or my regular, normal links?
