The guy with the house called and...<rewind>
We waited, no call, and I thought about calling Ali... <rewind>
Huge hordes of people and I'm still excited... <rewind>
Lori just called. They're almost here! ETA well before the open house, so we can all go! <fast forward>
We got there a few minutes before the landlord was supposed to open the house. Already there was an amorphous mass of people, not quite a line, but definitely a mob or throng, just waiting outside. The house was nice, and <fast forward>
So I made dinner, and I've been nominated for the official house cook, and then L&L tried to pimp Nsync to me. On a work night. Oh well. I may eventually be able to pair names with faces. 'The one with the hair and the - which one's he?' <fast forward>
Some idiot at work had a nasty little virus, but we got it cleaned up without too much work. It's... <fast forward>
We walked down to the landing at the south end of Lake Union. The sun had finally come out, and it was lovely out. Small niggling remnants of guilt for pushing one of my favorite little bistros, but y'know, they'll get me back as soon as they get to know the city. The table next to us was rather loud, but Lady, the food's good. We even had S'mores for dessert - they bring out Fire for you and everything. The pyro's favorite dessert.
We got home in time to watch Angel, and Angel lurked around, being all dark and gloomy and not cute enough (big surprise) and Wesley hits all my geek hot buttons, and Gunn... does not look like my mental image of him. He's too young. Weird.
I tried to go to bed after that, but I kept thinking about the whole Wesley/Gunn thing, and needing to adjust my brain to canon-Gunn, so I got back up and started talking about it with Lori, and that degenerated into her regaling me with awful, horrid badfic plots, and she doesn't stop! I think the earplugs worked, finally. I ended up staying up all the way through Leno and watching these, um, guys and finally stumbling to bed after midnight.
Slept well, though. <fast forward>
Went home for lunch, to check the message, and we didn't get the house. For sure, definite, and that little high of anticipation was worth it anyway. The search goes on!
