Sunday morning
Aug. 19th, 2001 09:03 amWell, I survived Friday. I got the check to the landlord and I have the lease, which will be making its merry way around the country next week. Two guys showed up to see the house as potential roomies, and I'm none too sure about either of them. The girl with the cats is looking better and better.
And then Dad took me kayaking. Oh, that was fun. We took a two-man kayak out around Lake Union, and Mom called Dad when we were in the middle of the lake. So Dad sat back there chatting, and telling her all about the sights, while I paddled away, all by myself. My shoulders soon protested, but when you're in the middle of a lake, what's there to do but go forward? Beautiful, beautiful view. I'll have to do it again sometime. (And of course Dad's finding all the little boat rental places around - the sailboats by the south end of Lake Union are next on his list)
Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon with Nancy. She's a Lois&Clark fan that I tried to hook up with last year, but plans fell through a number of times. This time, I left Dad to his own devices (and my bus pass) and headed up to Shoreline to see the movie Rat Race. Funny as hell, and it was nice to be sitting down and chatting with a fan again. And - holy shit! - she's offered to help me move!
Pardon me while I have a small moment of panic. Two weeks! Ack!
Ok. That's done with. Dad and I are heading up to Anacortes to check out the nearby airport (potential site for the new company) and generally piddle around the islands. He and Mom might really be moving out here - that is so cool. And somewhere along the line, we'll pick up boxes and I'll start thinking about packing stuff up. Later. First the adventure.
