The Weekend, annotated version

First off, I have no bus karma. Seriously. I tried getting out of work early, take the 25 home, hit the theater with Lori on Friday for the last matinee of the day...
Denied. The bus was 20 minutes late, and I only know this because I gave up, started walking...
And was passed by the bus going the other way.
Saturday we were a little late to the theater, parked in a different parking garage from the one I'm used to, and managed not to get lost in Westlake. And then sat through twenty minutes of previews. Damn! I didn't know that they'd take up that much time.
So anyway, looking forward to Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, and I swear I'm gonna get to Iron Monkey before it leaves the theaters.
The movie? Oh, right. Yeah - it was funny, sweet, silly and just plain dumb in parts. The fart jokes were overdone, 'fucked over' was overdubbed with 'messed over' in at least two glaringly obvious places, and Lance Bass can't act. He's bloody well adorable, but the boy needs acting lessons.
Did laundry
Don't get too excited. I'd actually thought of breaking out the sewing machine and hemming up John's curtains and taking a look at some of the projects I'd started or planned, but that didn't happen. Sheets and towels got washed, and I looked funny at the cloth piles, but that's it.
Read Harry Potter
All four books. I started the first one Saturday night late, excercised restraint and put it down at one thirty, and then spent pretty much the entire day Sunday reading.
They're good. Really good, and there's this little part of my brain going 'so that's what all the fuss was about... they were right.'
Watched Once A Thief
Watched the movie with Ali, and started in on the episode tapes I got, but I was hella distracted. Books hold my attention so much better than the tv, any day, and then I had this little cooking urge...
Baked bread
Books, fresh bread and tea. I could have added scones and been truly decadent, but why overdo it?
Bread's a lovely thing for a lazy afternoon, and it was a good indicator that the oven's a little overclocked - the top burt a wee bit at the very end of the baking time. The second loaf was half gone this morning, and I doubt it'll last past the 24 hour mark. Hee. I cut myself a big slab of toast this morning. You know, just to even out the loaf. Yum.
