Another weekend gone
Jan. 14th, 2002 12:21 amLucy's burning incense, U2's on the player, and my feet are cold.
Friday night Gordon was back, so we had our first gaming session of the new year. Our group ran into the same problem we've had for the last couple of sessions - the monsters we encounter either kick our asses so hard that a character or two dies, or we wipe the floor with whatever monster Gordon's throwing at us. I think he needs to keep our party off-balance and separated - we do worse that way it seems. (worse as in, don't wade through encounters like Nazgul through orcs)
I lent Bimbos of the Death Sun by Sharyn McCrumb to Seth. Funny, hilarious book about a murder mystery set at a science fiction convention. A must-read for anyone who's ever or never been to one. And today I handed over to Gordon the first book of the Belgariad by David Eddings, and An Oblique Approach by Eric Flint and David Drake. I wanted to hook him on David Weber's Honor Harrington series, but Dru stole the first book a year back, and I haven't replaced it yet. Bad librarian, no bookplate.
Saturday was much more exciting - Lori got Mr. Bass back from the dealer, all hale and hearty and no longer requiring much warming up in the mornings. And so Lori, Lucy and I all piled in to meet Eiddy and Willa at the UVillage Starbucks. More slashers! Whee! We are not the only island of Nsync slash in the world. (Just probably the greatest sustained concentration of slashers... Eh. We live together. We slash together. It works, trust me.)
Gordon and I celebrated Thor's birthday with many, many movies: Legally Blonde, Jurassic Park 3, High Fidelity and Thirteenth Warrior. Lori wandered in and out, off on her bus adventures, and Ali showed up for the beginning of 13th Warrior, but didn't make it even halfway.
I was up late. Again. And again tonight.
Nothing happened today. Nothing. The sun rose, so did I (Eventually. The two events were not simultaneous by any stretch of the imagination.) Gordon left for Nevada again, a meal was eaten somewhere in there again, and I was very, very boring all day long. Time for bed now.
Oh yeah, food for thought. What was Emmanuelle doing sitting between Chris and JC tonight? Was she JC's date?
