Waking to Mist
Feb. 22nd, 2002 09:48 amblink Wow. More people have added me as friends. I must be interesting or something.
Lovely day today - started with mist wreathing the University, and totally obscuring even the lake beyond the shadowed green spires of the trees. My brother's on safari in Nairobi, and he'll be heading for Kenya soon to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. That's just... wow. An amazing opportunity - my brother's just too cool for words.
Our Chair's secretary is retiring, so when I walked in the door this morning, only slightly damp from the rain, I almost got trampled by the rush of people for the conference room, where the most marvelous breakfast was laid out. I'm so easily cheered in the morning.
Plans for the Portland show seem to be going apace... I hadn't realized how many slashers there will be in attendance. Oh, the squee-ing to be had.
('Slash' will make it into the OED this year. I wonder when 'squee' might be considered a word...)
