Gum Wrapper Haiku
Aug. 16th, 2002 04:49 pmgum wrapper poems
scattered thoughts coalescing
on bits of paper
So I've got the bank thing figured out, if not done - I need to haul all the house members into the credit union sometime soon. Lucy was there with me this afternoon, but in the talk about lunch, we sort of forgot to actually take her off the account. Oops.
pretty dancing boy
sweating in the summer sun
Hm - tastes like Guinness
I spaced on the utilities that I need to cancel - Calvin was being all puny this morning, so I locked him in the bathroom and left the statements on the board.
What would poets do
if there were no pretension
to boost their egos
Cell reception in my office sucks. If it's not fully charged at the beginning of the day, my cell goes to roaming, which is a battery hog, and goes dead by 3. That being said, I'll be out this evening right after work, having a margarita or three with my coworkers. We're gonna celebrate all the August birthdays in one fell swoop.
snark and spark defines
the twisted byplay between
glitter'd second born
I swung by Jacyn's desk on the way back fro K-wing and she'll be only a few blocks from the new house. We talked about her futon-score at Goodwill, bus routes, and I bitched about moving. The price of tea in China didn't come up, but it got me thinking about a house-warming party. Or a Tea, at the least. Tea and scones and those little sandwiches at which Lori will look very much askance.
two tall, dark strangers
tangled limbs and sweaty sheets
make for better friends
My Pet Your Bunny notebook has been supplanted by one of my older, blue notebooks. I snitched them from Sun back in '95 when I was working as an intern - I still have my log book from that. To continue the tradition of stickering, I've plastered an Apple logo on the front, and written Bite Me on it. Appropriate for a slasher's notebook, methinks.
Alas, I've no skill
no vaunted poetic voice,
just a love of words
scattered thoughts coalescing
on bits of paper
