All I need now is my GRE scores, and I'm done with my app. I suppose it's a good thing i managed to unearth them a few weeks back, so I know exactly where to look, instead of shuffling helplessly through random crap. I keep checking the clock, though - I want to get home and finish this already. Give it over to the faceless committee that will hopefully find me funny or interesting or in any other way acceptable (again) for the iSchool.

I did a ton of errands up-campus at lunch today: signed up for Callilgraphy and Belly Dancing (Ballroom Dancing conflicted with the belly dance class), sent Dru a couple of cds and paid off his mastercard bill so that he won't 'forget' my shelves. Took me a little too long - I didn't have time for lunch.

So I'm a little hungry in addition to the anxiety of wanting to finish off this whole app thing. And I'm in the middle of Florence King's Confessions of a failed Southern Lady, which, while interesting and funny, is not engrossing enough to pull me out of checking the clock every 3.2 minutes. Maybe Bossman will let me go a little early.

I couldn't restrain the smart-ass within. She held back during the Personal Statement ) but the rest of the app... Oh boy )

Note: if you get bored reading all those questions, it's because I had to copy them all in because the server wasn't letting me SAVE MY APPLICATION! ARGH!

This makes me really fucking glad that I didn't wait until tomorrow to finally put all this in. Fuckers. I'm heading to the library. If it doesn't work when I get back, I'll go ballistic on them in person tomorrow.

I came back, switched browsers and everything posted ok. I still have to mail off a signed copy tomorrow (and I may just walk it up-campus myself), but other than that, I'm applied.

Huh. Lori's either asleep (and slept through a scream of rage and a bit of stomping) or AWOL, and it looks like Ali's not going to show for Buffy, as there is no Buffy tonight. The house is suddenly amazingly quiet.

So Lori woke up as I was taunting Calvin with my chicken dinner, and wandered downstairs. She'd gotten the audio book of Goblet of Fire today, and commented that the guy reading it pronounced it without the final 't': Voldemore.

Which, really, is a French pronunciation, and made me scramble for my french/english dictionary, because 'mort' is death, and I couldn't remember 'vol'. So Voldemort is either 'theft of death', my personal choice, or 'flight of death', which is more 'eh' than spooky-Death-Eater-y

Am I on crack, or have I just not seen this discussed on HP lists before? Like, ever. What with people maybe being distracted by the whole flaming letters anagram thing.

Pity that, if I just missed it. I managed to read quite a bit of a Morality and the Wizarding world discussion on WIKTT, but alas, the C&D letter to the Restricted Section kerfluffle arose before I could get that pesky app out of the way and sort out my thoughts enough to reply and add my two cents.

Also, Holy Lord, but this is funny: [livejournal.com profile] thefirstevil has a journal. Good thing Lori's awake now.
