This is the second night in a row I've stumbled home with a headache. It started with a little much lumpia right before belly dance (and we started belly rolls last night. Ow.) and I just tumbled into bed at nine (I had to watch Xander declare his gayness first.)
Today I was sluggish from the get go - I walked to work, and still was groggy until about ten. Things improved, and I did 25 of my 125 minutes of HIPAA training in 5 (I read fast. Go me.) Fun new legislation we have to pay attention to, dealing with patient information and privacy. And because we're IT, we get to go over all the required training.
Still, it was a rush after work - I tried that new little teriyaki place at the end of the Ave, and decided it's too expensive - the place on 45th and Roosevelt is cheaper and better food anyway. I had to buy paper at the UBookstore for class, and I managed not to get sucked into the temptation that is the book-part of the store, but downstairs, my art supply fetish kicked in. I got a few brush pens, and a silk scarf and fabric pens to play with, in addition to the requisite project-paper.
I might play with kanji on the scarf, and I might mix in some calligraphy. Don't know yet. Might be fun to do a Highlander-themed kanji scarf, what with Kicka's asking about 'Quickening' this week. I wonder if Kasha would appreciate a scarf with lots of little red, horned ducks. I'd have to get more colors for that, and I might get it done in time for her birthday next year. Sheesh. I hate it when I come up with cool present ideas the week or the month after a given birthday.
We measured, cut and ruled our final projects for calligraphy. I'm thinking Jane Austen quotes, but I might need to pull Jitterbug Perfume out instead - I need to fill up more space, and the passages on beets are just priceless.
Whee - the ibuprofen is kicking in. Sleeeeeep!
