Lori and I spent the better part of this afternoon driving through Ravenna and Greenwood, hitting open houses, most of which we couldn't afford. We saw a dozen or so houses, nabbed the sheets on a few more. The best was this million dollar estate on Ravenna Ave. Gorgeous. Whoever owned it had obviously bought it to update it, and had just thrown some antiques in to make the place look good, but hey - it worked. That's my new lottery house. (I'd buy it if I won the lottery)

There's a place out on 30th Ave NW and NW 85th or so that we're considering - it's afforable, and decent-sized, but we haven't seen the inside yet. It's a little far out, but it's right off the 48 bus for me, and a straight shot down 85th to I-5 for Lori. Maybe next Saturday, if things work out.

I still haven't managed to get down to Boeing Field. I wasn't motivated enough this morning, and Dru's car started making icky noises this afternoon. But after stopping at Red Mill and showing Lori the glory that is, I'm stuffed and ready for my food-coma nap instead.

Dru's climb

So a letter got passed to a descending climer, dated the 26th, and Dru's group was at 14,000 feet. I have no idea what that really means, but others in the know say they might be home a week early.

Dad just called - Dru just called him, and he's down off the mountain.

Um. That was quick.

So he hasn't decided if he's going to bum around Talkeetna for a few days or go ahead and come back early. He'd gone to dinner after calling Dad, so I haven't talked to him directly yet. He's happy though :)

Found more stuff about climbing Denali: PBS has a site with a very basic map and description of the various camps (including the Fourteen Medical, where that letter got passed off)
