Jun. 7th, 2003 11:37 amSlept late, so the lawn isn't mown and now won't be until tomorrow. Maybe. It doesn't take that long, but wow with the heat. I can hear the drone of someone else mowing through the open window.
As soon as my hair dries it's going up in braids. The biggest drawback to long hair is summer.
Before 2ish, I need to get the sourdough made and pull the usb PCI card from the 8600 downstairs. And make sun tea. Then I'll be heading over to Meg's again for more asparagus pickles. 4 hours and 30 pounds of asparagus made 20-some quarts of pickles, mostly in wide-mouth jars (never again with the narrow-mouth for asparagus pickles - you have to make the things all kinky to get them in.) Today we're going to sort through the ends we chopped off and make a few jars of just little end-y pickles.
Four hours in a hot kitchen on an 80+ day in June. I'm a nut. And again today. I have a feeling it's a lot more fun with someone else there to share the work and laugh at my little asparagus voices: 'No! Fight the oppressor! Don't fit!' and 'Join me, my brothers, we work towards peace, and harmony, and garlic!'
