Weekend madness
Jun. 8th, 2003 10:44 pmMy bad. That was 40 pounds of asparagus, in 34 jars. We made the last 13 jars of little inch-long end-y bits tonight. Those'll make good presents, methinks. Well, for the non-freaks who actually like them.
Meg's thinking of picking up more, and possibly planning for cucumbers, tomatoes, and other assorted picklicious things. John asked for watermelon rinds, and I'd like to do those, just to see what they'd be like. I'm all curious now.
All my garlic had shriveled up. Next time, store it in the basement. (Note to self: new house needs a basement. And a pantry.)
The Irish pub down the street has three kinds of cider on tap. I had a lovely time there with Kasha and Lucy last night, and I will be back there again.
Killed a dragon today. Well, a small one, and Ite was almost an hors d'oevre, but she made the killing shot. Woo! I'm thinking of having her take the Leadership feat so she can attract a cohort and a horde of elves and dwarves.
I'm not heading to Colorado tomorrow after all, but I'm really wanting the time off. We'll see how this week goes, and if I do want to actually spend vacation instead of pleading sick. I'm not migraine-prone, but they're handy excuses for slack. Maybe I could ask for the 20th off, so I have a three-day weekend over the Solstice.
