Adventures in Zombiedom

So I wake up at 4am to the lovely sounds of Laurier puking in the kitchen. Thank god it was the kitchen - carpet and cat puke are not friends. But at the same time I noticed Calvin wasn't in the house. So I tossed and turned until 5am, when Laurier puked again, and I heard Calvin at the front door wanting to come in. Cleaned up the cat puke again, let Calvin in and went back to bed.

Why is it, though, that I'm alert and awake at 4 and 5am, and then a complete zombie when I finally get my chance in the shower at 7:30?

It made the discovery this morning that Dru had cleaned the cat box last night completely mystifying. I mean, no one in the house cleans the cat box but me. I was thinking that they were all magically pooping outside or somehow they'd found a transdimensional litterbox hiding - they can't get to the TARDIS behind the water heater, because that's in the basement, where they're not allowed.

But no. Brother cleaned it. (Damn. I was sort of hoping for the transdimensional litterbox.)

Fannish Friday Three

1. What's your all-time OTP? (Slash or het, any fandom at all)

Don't have one. I have 'Preferred Pairings' (which also includes threesomes), but I try to stay away from the rabid factionalism that follows OTP-ing. I think overall, my PPP (Preferred Preferred Pairing) is Methos/Krycek, followed quickly by most threesomes.

2. Which pairing do you just not understand?

Dobby/Gollum. Eww. Funny, but eww.

There are some pairings that take a lot of convincing to get me to buy into them, but I think anything can be done if it's done well. (That being said, doing it well is a lot harder than most people think.)

3. Which pairings were you initially against, but found yourself warming toward? (real and fake, any fandom)

I'm still pretty leery of Snape/Sirius, because there's so much hate there. (and other OotP reasons I won't go into.) I'm also not a big fan of Snape/Harry, but mostly because I tend to like Hermione with Snape.

Finally getting around to the OotP maunderings

So I finished it Saturday and talked myself out over the weekend, and I'm pretty happy about the whole thing. It's funny, coming out of it, it felt like I was surfacing from a really good epic fanfic. Gen of course, with very little hint of the pairing off fan writers tend to do when they're not doing character studies, but the sort of world-expansion, shit goes-down fiction I tend to love.

Sure, Rowling Jossed my WIPs all to hell, and made me take a step back and go hmm, but I count that as a good thing.
