I just called RePC and it looks like a) I won't be able to get much money out of my spare computers (an 8600, a Power Computing mac clone and Lori's HD-less Gateway) and b) it's too late to take them over today anyway.

I'm feeling rather slackish, and that's deadly, considering I've got less than two weeks. And most of my weekends are not exactly free.

On the upside, Lori and I filled (and then some) the back of a Flexcar truck and trundled it on down to Goodwill. More stuff we won't have to move. We didn't manage to fit Ali's desk, but it's small enough she should be able to manage it herself on an afternoon.

I've also managed to plan out my living room, and amazingly enough, I seem to have actual wall space - it won't entirely be books. I may have an odd bookshelf here and there, dining room for my cookbooks, bedroom for knicknacks, but the main bit of the library will be in the living room. I think what I'm going to do with the massive door-table is to snag the idea from Mom and lay down a cheap futon mattress or some other sort of padding onto and make it into a couch-ish lounging thing in front of the tv. I may need to do something about the legs so it doesn't wobble, either.

I don't/won't have a kitchen table, but I think I'll try and get a card table and some folding chairs for the nonce. If anything, they'll be more than useful for gaming. I'll work my way up to real furniture after I've dealt with other necessities: a hood/microwave over the stove, wire closet orgaizers, a new medecine cabinet in the bathroom, new drawer pulls in the kitchen, a dresser-bed... The kitchen table does rate over new door hardware, but that's it on my developing list.

I haven't even closed, and I'm already trying to decide how to spend the cash I'll be getting out of a refi in a couple of months. The appraiser (who's coming Monday) remarked to my real estate gal that all the comparables in the complex and nearby were going for $10-15K more than what I'm getting the condo for.

Another thing, just randomly? I miss my morning bike rides this past week. I'm looking forward to the new ride in in the mornings.
