Bugger this for a can of flatulent wombats.

My front bike tire went flat last week. No worries, I thought - I need a bike pump anyway, and went and purchased one.

Pumped up the tire this morning, and it was flat again before I'd wheeled the thing up the hill. Grr. If Dru can't find anything, I'll toss it on the bus tomorrow morning and take it to Recycled Cycles.

In the news of the weird, my campaign to toilet train my cats proceeds apace. I've gone from having the litter box on top of the toilet to a colander of litter just inside the bowl. This stage is to teach them how to perch on the rim. Laurier caught right on, and I had to lock Hobbes in the bathroom for 20 minutes to make sure he caught on too. There's a rosy glow of a future of never needing to change the litter again, just over the horizon!

(Well, my inner skeptic is still ranting on the backside of the brain, but I'm pretty hopeful, nonetheless.)

I'm finding that knitting in the round on two circulars isn't as easy as I'd thought. Part of it may be the cheap circs I got from Joanns - can't remember the brand name offhand, but they've got these annoying plastic wires that are always curling way too much. I'm working on a hat right now, gearing up for socks. I may have to get my hands on a set of dpns to see how I like them. Just in case, you understand. I'm still all about knitting socks from the toe up - it makes more sense to me. (Again, said by someone who's never knitted socks before.)

And again with the crafty-ness, I'm planning on turning my old green Rubbermaid storage bins into a worm bin. Not quite sure where it'll go, but it's rather hard to stop saving worm scraps - I feel a pang every time I turn on the disposal these days.

Dru's girlfriend had a lovely little brunch yesterday, and I got to meet all his new friends. I was one of two people in the room (of perhaps twenty in a studio apartment) that didn't climb, and the other was also the sister of a climber. I did make the aside to Dru that I bet all of them could beat me in arm-wrestling without breaking a sweat.
