Looong weekend for me. I have realized that when I wake up at 4am and instead of going immediately back to sleep, I spend the next half hour dreaming up excuses for not going into work? It's a Mental Health Day. I usually don't take them on Mondays or Fridays, but I have meetings and other things, so I'd have to be on campus the rest of the week anyway - today was better than most.

Saturday started badly and got better. The dude who was going to buy the Blue Beast was scheduled to come in the middle of the morning, so I didn't get as much done in my garden as I'd hoped (weeding and some early planting) and then he cancelled on me. Grr. But then Lori picked me up to go down to Nemo's for some fabulous fannish viewing, and I got to indulge in I-Man and CSI and vids galore. It's really interesting watching vids with vidders - there's a whole new perspective on the medium that I find just fascinating. Plus - vids. What more could a fan ask for?

Sunday I meant to work in the garden all day, but didn't manage to haul my lazy ass outside until closer to sundown. Still, got most of the weeding done and some peas and beans planted. I have this odd trapezoid that has been chopped up into raised beds, three rectangles and a central, odder, trapezoid. It makes it hard to plan, but easy enough to divy the work up between the sections.

Today I finally got to sleep in, which amazingly, sucks up a whole lotta the day. I played some, read some, made a library visit. My kitchen is sparkly clean again - nothing like pouring boiling water over the counter-tops for getting the last of that caked-on flour from last week's bread-kneading. Not sure if it helps sterilize or not, but it makes me feel like it's that much cleaner.

Lori lent me her 4th season CSI tapes - the first 10 episodes. I've already watched half that, and I think I need some project to work on before I go too crazy. Something to work on while I watch. It's almost past knitting season - we'll see.

What have I been reading? Let's see - Resonant wrote this lovely Trio-fic, Bed and Board. Yay happy threesome! I've found the predecessor to Hermione in Pratchett's Johnny Maxwell Trilogy (Her name's Kirsty, and I prefer JKR's version anyway.) His Johnny is endearing, of course. I *just* finished Basingstoke's Andrew-centric Big Rock Candy Mountain, which made me cry, but in *such* a good way.
