Cleaning, because...
May. 6th, 2004 07:28 amMom's coming!
Took off at 11am yesterday. *Didn't* call me like she'd said, but I can imagine things were hectic there a bit.
I couldn't find a hotel close that's available Friday night, so she'll be staying with either me or Dru that first night. She'll complain about the cats, I'm sure, but that's as to be expected.
I finally stumbled home last night, looking forward to being able to shove a few things into storage, and then go to bed early, but then I saw the note that said there was a board meeting in 15 minutes. Good thing I checked in, as I was number three on the New Business. We didn't get to that until about 9, and I kept skipping out to cycle my laundry. I didn't get the whole plumbing bill paid, as it was a grey area, and I hadn't mentioned that I noticed my tub backing up when I wasn't using it. In hindsight, I think it may have, but saying so at that juncture would have felt like pushing it. As it was, I'll be getting $75 back, so I'm happy.
Dru called after I abandoned the board to the rest of the meeting, and I filled him in on Mom's trip. Saturday house-hunting, and Sunday doing some sort of Mom thing. I have a good idea, but I may have to do it next year, because I've got fuck-all for time before Mom gets here.
And now I'm waiting until I can go outside to wait for the Express downtown, where I'll arrive an hour early and fret until court starts. Dru didn't mention until *last night* (the fucker) that he'd done this sort of court thing before, and could dexcribe to me the process. ("You show up and get in line with, like, 30 people and you go up and they ask what you did. I told 'em I blew a stop sign on my bike, and they halved it and I was done.") At least I know there is a process. And Dru's showing up for moral support, plus he found the receipts for the brake work he had done on Turnbull in January.
So, cross my fingers and then hope I don't have too much to do when I finally trudge up to Harborview after court.
