...if it weren't for that pesky real estate agent on Saturday/Mother on Sunday.

Saturday Dru, Mom and I all piled into her car and headed down to Olympia to house-hunt. We wandered around on our own for a couple of hours, and then met up with the agent Dad'd found on the Internet, and she just Did Not Get It. Mom's got this huge list of requirements, and not one of the twenty-some-odd listings she'd first pulled up would have worked. So we sat down and did another search before we left the office, and found six. Those were all just marginally acceptable, and none had the space Mom wants for her studio.

So we pretty much all agreed that Lacey and Tumwater were Right Out and the agent was a Crack-Monkey.

Then we came home and had dinner with Dru's soon-to-be exgirlfriend. Mom asked for more reasons for the breakup, but Dru can discuss his own damn sex life with Mom. I'm not explaining it for him.

Sunday we planned to go back after a Sunday Morning Mother's Day Brunch, but Mom headed it all off at the pass by drinking her morning SlimFast and not being hungry. By the time we got Dru and started discussing food options, I was starving-cranky on top of period-cranky and some hour and a half later ended up sobbing on Mom's shoulder in front of the crepe stand at the Ballard Market. They fed me immediately thereafter.

We headed down to Olympia again and poked around the northern and western outskirts, and further dissed the agent as a crack-monkey, and Mom found a teeny-tiny little apartment to live in while looking/buying/building. Ok, the agent had pointed it out to us as a good place, but she'd done so off-handedly and at 40 mph while none of us were paying attention. So it was really lucky we even found it again. So Mom's going home tomorrow, packing up and hauling ass back here in two weeks, just squeaking out before the house closes. Almost all their stuff is still in storage from the year they spent in Colorado, so they really don't have much but to pick up and go.

I'm looking forward to having them out here more permanently and perhaps more importantly, not spending a weekend traipsing around Olympia frantically house-hunting. It's exhausting!
