Sunday morning? Nope, wanna
May. 23rd, 2004 09:41 amBleargh. I've got a cold trying to sneak up on me, my shoulders are suspiciously stress-sore, and I wrenched my ankle walking to the bus yesterday. Poop.
I want muffins, but I lost my best muffin recipe in a move. It was one of those stupid get ten free recipe cards in the mail to tease you into getting the full set, for only $X.95 or whatever, but it was so good. I miss it. I think it was the move from Georgia, but it's been so long. And I don't quite remember it faithfully enough to recreate it. Poop on a stick.
Hit the Farmer's Market yesterday, Apples that had been in cold storage are still around, and still crunchily good. Oh yes. And I picked up basil and some local hot house tomatoes, so I just need some good mozzarella and I can make my favoritest sandwich in the world. So good. Goat's milk chevre and this interesting Spring cheese are also mine. Loves the Farmer's Market we does, my precious.
I showed up for the
teasociety meet at Queen Mary tearoom, only to find the reservation had not been made (we didn't get our numbers until last minute, and the QM is *busy* - I spoke to the gal there, and she showed me her reservations book: you need to make your reservation at least a week or two in advance if you want in on a weekend. But I took the opportunity to walk down to Acorn Yarns and poke around. Felt up yarns and got myself a set of stitch holders, so whee! I'm halfway up the back of my new tank top, and in only a week. This pleases me.
I've made tea, and eventually I'll get around to breakfast, but I don't think I'll make it down to the pool this morning. I may nap instead. There's weeding to do, but the nap, it calls to me! (And I've only been out of bed for an hour. OI.) I'll probably mooch around home and work on my Marriage Law challenge response, which I'd talk about, but I don't want to jinx it. I was up until midnight writing, and I went to sleep planning the next scene. Take that, Writer's Block!
( And finally, a book meme )
