Stick a fork in me, I'm done
May. 29th, 2004 08:35 pmStill a bit sick - I woke up this morning with a stuffy head that went away as soon as I was more vertical and could apply kleenex. I'm pretty run-down, too. Add in the backache and once-in-a-blue-moon period cramps, and I was/am not a happy camper.
We had a clean-up-your-patch work party today, as there's some dedication or whatnot coming up, and my paths and borders needed serious weeding. I cheated a bit - chopped off the tops of the bigs weeds and laid down newspaper and then back on top of the newspaper. But my onions got the attention they needed, I nabbed a bit of parsley and a cucumber from a neighbor, and pulled all my spinach. Ooh! And my peas surprised me by having a couple handfuls of crunchy goodness.
Then I staggered home (quite literally, when I hit the mini-orchard) and napped for a couple of hours. Still tired, but it's light outside, so I can't sleep deeply, and I should eat something anyway.
I have a sink full of spinach that needs processing, and no oomph to do more than stare at it. What I wouldn't give for a house-elf right about now. Or at least a salad spinner. I'm thinking spinach dip for Memorial Day, and I'm going through some of my garden-to-kitchen cookbooks, but suggestions would be more than welcome.
