Happy Solstice!
Jun. 20th, 2004 06:12 pmI celebrated the Solstice by watching nekkid people ride past on bikes. Oh, and there was a parade. Fremont just kicks ass sometimes, and yesterday was one of them - their Solstice parade is always a hoot, from the naked cyclists to the awesome Brazilian band (I saw you, Chris!) to the belly dancers to the pink clad riot police. Complete with pope!
I think, though, that my new pedometer is lying.
I got it Wednesday, and racked up 5900 steps Thursday. But Friday only registered 2600, and Saturday, including the walk down Queen Anne hill, across the Fremont bridge, and around Fremont until I caught the bus home? 1900. Um, no. And then today I walked down to the IMA, which is about 3 and some miles? It only registered about 2000 steps. It should have been 3 or four times that. I am now made much wroth by this thing. I'll probably swing by Hall Health after class tomorrow and have them replace it.
I did good, though - walked down, swam (which was lovely after the walk) and retrieved my bike from work so I could bike home. A rather leisurely personal triathlon. I won't be doing the Seafair one on July 18th and now that I look, the Danskin triathlon on August 15th closed their registration in March. I suppose there's the Reebok triathlon in September... Damn, there are a lot of them in Seattle.
I start my class tomorrow! (And a heinous work schedule around it, but hey.) I had to get yet another Bible, as the New Oxford Annotated edition I got for the last class I had that required a bible has been updated a few more editions since then. That makes 7 bibles on my shelves, not counting Apocryphas, Various Lost Books and the Nag Hammadi. Self-defense, doncha know?
