Still out sick

I must be feeling better - I'm mid-Going Postal, just taking a break for scones. I'm putting off Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell until I have a healthier chunk of time: once my mother has left, for sure. (Dad'll take off quick-like to get back to work, while Mom will... linger. :)

To do list for the day:

• Weed out shelves (Amazingly, I do occasionally get rid of books.)


• ...urr - wash the rugs that Hobbes is currently vomitting all over


• Take a few file boxen downstairs to storage.


• Move the comic books into my bedroom


• Move crafts to the comic shelves


• Expand Hardback Fiction into the craft shelves.


• Balance checkbook


• Shelve history


• Deal with boxen in dining room


• Take care of crap on bedroom shelves

Parental invasion has commenced

Hmm. So Dad's car got broken into last night, and his briefcase with his computer was stolen out of it.

Now... bear in mind that I provide not only tech support for Dad, but bitch support when the basic problem is that the laptop his company has provided for has not even half the memory it needs to run all the programs he demands out it. Dad calls his bitch support line rather often.

So, while I feel bad about the theft and all? My first reaction was: 'Well, at least he'll be getting a better laptop out of the deal.'

And you know what? So was his. :)

Anyway, no Dad this trip, but Mom and Poppa are driving up, with an ETA sometime Sunday. *re-commences shuffling piles of crap around to conceal her lack of organization*
