Weekend hero
Oct. 18th, 2004 03:40 pmFriday night I got AmazonL spanked - the task force I was on failed its mission at the very end. Which led to avoiding the computer on Saturday.
To that end I spend 2 1/2 hours on the bus getting from Sandpoint down to the Factoria Mall. As the crow flies (or even as the salmon swims) it's not that far, but there's this long, honkin' lake in the middle...
Anyway, I brought my knitting and two books and I was happily diverted for a good bit of the afternoon. And the ultimate reason I went down to Factoria of all places was to meet some of the SOK people from City of Heroes. Granted, half of them were my gaming group, but new faces are always fun. Geekery with a side of fries was had.
Sunday I got up moderately early and helped my brother move the last of his stuff into his new house share. Nabbed a Flexcar for his bed, and while the 15 minute wait in the rain to get the entry code for the truck made me rather cranky, Dru made it up to my by buying me hot tea and breakfast. Once we got the bed gone, there was only the kitchen and some odds and ends. I think he left a coat or two in the closet, but other than that, we made a clean sweep.
After all that (and some cheap tacos), he wanted to see Team America: World Police. Um. I can't say that I liked it, but I must admit to falling over laughing at many points in the movie.
I mean to make him apple pie sometime (well, he asked) but last night wasn't going to work. Some other time. I did get to show off my shiny new game (well, sort of new) before he left, and I didn't mean to play long, but then I got asked to team in another task force...
Still haven't completed that mission, and there's some rethinking I've been doing regarding powers and... well, that's all boring, even if you do play the game.
