's why I don't own a car
Dec. 8th, 2004 03:04 pm"That's why I don't drive/own a car."
I'm prone to saying that at times. Usually after someone has complained about bad drivers, or the price of gas, and sometimes the vaggaries of gay penguins.
Well, maybe not in response to gay penguins.
It just got too expensive. Way too expensive. And for my immediate needs, I've got Flexcar for errands and last-minute things and it's just too fricking late to take the bus.
But I do miss the freedom and flexibility of owning my own vehicle. The ability to take long trips.
So my brother's car insurance just came up for renewal, and he was miffed that they didn't drop the fee after the first six months, so he had me shop around: best deal was with my condo insurance people, and I'll have existing insurance if/when I decide I can afford a car again. Nothing fancy, just something that'll make the East Side or Vancouver or funky little highway fruit stands that much more accessible.
