Friday morning - is it really?

It helps, if you're going to the break room to get tea in the morning, to bring one's tea mug.

Yesterday I went over to the new lab building with the bossman to set up one of the two labs that just vacated the hallway by my office. Their new space is a renovated building, and is pretty swank - lovely windows everywhere, new furniture and all. A couple people talked about the group/building getting their own IT person... which is tempting, but not enough. I don't know enough, but the commute would be longer (South Lake Union instead of UDistrict) and probably more money. My gut says no.

I think this year I'll be attempting to slurp down some training classes - get some certs, maybe, and make sure to stay ahead of the curve - we're a year or two behind the newnew stuff coming out, and sometimes it shows.

Cancelled my City of Heroes account this morning. I'd pretty much gotten to a frustration point with my hero anyway - she was almost impossible to solo, I couldn't make it through the respec, and really? WoW is where it's at right now. So then I spent a half an hour with my elven hunter before heading to work.

Nap time!

Yawned my way through work today, and decided to take a nap when I got home. 4 hours later... I ran out of dreams or something. Of course, now it's bedtime.

I had a big enough lunch I won't miss dinner, and there's nothing else going on. I've knitting and laundry to be done, with CSI to watch and WoW to play. Sunday I'll hook up with Dru and we'll do lunch or something. Mmm.. the excitement.

Yarn Porn!

Glee! I just got my first skein sample from Elann today: four mini hanks of the yarns that will come out in February; all mine to fondle. I've been a bit seethe-ish with envy over G&P's yard and Meg's plans for her gardens (especially in comparison to my small bit of earth) but the yarn is mineallmine! Whee!

It's not really enough to do more than a swatch, or perhaps a single, tiny sock, but I get to fondle my porn instead of just looking at it on the web, much like visiting a yarn store or a nursery. (Or a stripclub. (Or a college campus in summer. Except for the fondling part. (Honest!)))

I'm about to indulge in an Austen-splurge, I think. Last week it was LotR fanfic, this week it's Austen. I even feel a Pride&Prejudice marathon coming on: 5 hours of tea and knitting and Austen this weekend.

I have serious thoughts, but fleeting ones. They aren't sticking around long enough for me to get them into the journal, anyway.
