The zombie uprising started with a few corpses in the morgue; I still don't know where that is, but mostly they confined their slaughter to the hospital proper, and lacking brains, they all got lost before they got to my office. So I snuck out the back door ( I should say - one of the back doors) mid-morning, and hightailed it for home.

I ransacked the hardware store for a few items, and made my way out to one of the bomb shelters at the park (the old navy base that was) where I've set up camp. That's what the bolt-cutters were for. The condo is overrun with old people zombies right now - I'll wait until all the residents are dead and the pack has moved on before heading in first thing in the morning to pack up my shit and head for the hills.

I'm lacking serious shotgun firepower, but I've got a makeshift flamethrower and a sword, so unless I'm mobbed, I should be fine.

A flamethrower?????

Damn, I'm jealous!

On the other hand, I'm expecting to end up doing some cross-country hiking, and you can't really wear a frame backpack and a flamethrower at the same time.

The sound of screaming makes a really nasty alarm clock! Effective as hell, but nasty!

Totally makeshift - lighter and a couple dozen assorted aerosol cans of whatever. But it works - apparently no one told the zombies about 'stop, drop and roll.' Takes a while for them to die that way, though - but it does make them an easier target for decapitation once they're on fire. The embalmed ones, though? Holy crap, do they stink!
