mishadayNot going to lie: I'm refreshing the Seattle Times election webpage shouting at several states to GODDAMNED FLIP. Sometimes at 2am when I should be SLEEPING. BRAIN.
I had a stressful few days last week as I wrestled with my upcoming vacation. I was supposed to go to Mexico with my brother and his family in April. Well, for obvious reasons, that didn't happen, but the SIL postponed to Thanksgiving (also, partially, I suspect, to get out of getting voluntold to host her family's TG dinner.) I changed my flight, but cancelled the reservation. Only to find out I couldn't reserve a room at their resort.
It was a frantic couple of days as I weighed mom's state (still deteriorating, but not dire) and Dad's ability to care for her solo for an entire week (eeeehh?) with what help he can muster from church members and the hospice folks) versus oh.my.god I need to get out of here and take a goddamned vacation and see my beloved nieces. With the side of 'how the fuck do I DO this? (The answer is trawl the time share boards for someone with points to trade for cash.)
So I'm going. Dad will care for Mom, my cats and my new car and will have some fun and alone time.
