Late night musings

mishadayI always get these thoughts as I'm going to bed. It's never in time to stop shutting down my computer, but usually just the moment I've turned off the light and started shoving a cat (usually Hobbes) off the exact center oft he bed - bam!
I've found myself a new fandom: Harry Potter. Not that this is really news to me, but if anyone should have recs to point my way.... I'm horribly fascinated by Harry/Draco and Hermione/Snape.
(I'm battling a vague guilt over this one: Harry Potter is fueled by the movies, but remains a literary fandom. This means actual copyright violation, in contrast to media fandom, where the fanfic is in a completely separate medium from its source material.)
Anyway - pairing stuff. I find myself really drawn to a strong Hermione character, no matter the pairing. I identify very strongly with her - I was her for a few years in grade school. I also adore sniping and sarcasm as foreplay. The adversary as a love-interest pushes so many of my buttons it isn't funny.
I'm collecting recs as I go - the update will hit my page sometime before Thanksgiving, I'm sure. (too bloody many of them are WIP's, I swear!) It strikes me as funny (hitting so many rec pages as I did today) that in fandom we rec on kinks, and ask for kinks and know just as much about each other as a porn clerk might now about her customers, but it's not nearly the squicky thing that porn preferences are. I suppose the parallel is more porn producers/porn consumers than clerk/customer. Still. Porn.
