What I did Today
Sep. 25th, 2001 02:12 pmAt approximately ten minutes after midnight this morning, I was in a plane,
circling to land at SeaTac. There was fog, restricting visibility to about
800 feet. The captain said we needed to 1800 feet to land. We continued to
circle.
I went back to sleep.
Some 40 minutes later, the captain gave up and headed for Portland. They had ten miles of visibility.
I went back to sleep.
We landed and waited for a gate.
I went back to sleep.
Finally, about 2:30 or so, we finally got off the plane and milled around,
waiting for someone to tell us how to get to Seattle. One guy - looked like
ground crew, found a bus for us that would leave at 6.
So 7 of us, led by a lady who wanted to catch the Victoria Clipper at 8 in
the morning, threw our hands in the air, tromped on down to the rental car
counters, and acquired a mini-van. We were in Seattle by 5:30 and after
dropping everyone off at SeaTac and the ferries, I was home and in bed by 6.
I heard someone's alarm go off as I crawled up the stairs.
I woke up at noon and made it to work today (I'm still asking myself why) by
one-ish.
Quel adventure - heh, and that's just today
