Note to self: Lamb good. Roasty-bits good. Sleeeeeep...

Right. First, some scribbles from the theatre today:
Woke up to a beautiful, beautiful day - the sun was in my eyes. Oh lovely, lovely, lovely. I puttered a bit online, but the glare on the screen was so bad (oh darn!) that I wandered downstairs and had breakfast thoughts. like: "I have bacon!" "I have Good bacon!" "Hey, Lori, want some bacon and eggs?"

panpanbaconscrambleeggsdashofcream, Gordon wanders up with Thor, Ali wanders out, and I pull out all the stops - biscuits only take ten minutes, right? My timing ends up perfect - we're finishing off the last of the biscuits with ten minutes to spare for hunting for shoes before the bus comes.

There are five of us for The Count of Monte Cristo. I think they've taken some liberties with the original text, but it's a dim memory (college), and Dumas' good for a fun flick with much buckling of swashes.

Ali and Michelle desert, and Lori, Gordon and I have an hour to kill before Blackhawk Down starts, so we go food hunting. We're not terribly successful, and after passing up the high-priced restaurants in the mall, and the uber-lines at the Cheesecake Factory, we end up at the Subway across from the Library, and they're running out of everything. They use the last of the mayo on Gordon's wrap, and we buy the last of the cookies. They're hard and fairly horrid.

I've paid for Blackhawk Down, but at this point, I'm not really looking forward to two and a half hours of war flick. And Beautiful Mind is playing just a half hour earlier in the same theater. Sorry Ewan, Orlando, but I'm going with Russell today.

You know, for a handsome man, he can play a strikingly awkward character. I was impressed and very moved by the story of John Nash. Near the end, when he was back at Princeton, I was in tears.

A cleaning crew has just stopped in front of me, and is arguing over whether theater 3 is next to clean. They're passing schedules back and forth, and I know when it started, how long it lasts, and sorry, they've got half an hour. They finally, finally decide, having given up on basic math, that theater 9 is next on their list.

I peeked inside the theater to find Lori and Gordon, but it's still at the blood and gore bits. I'm tired, my head's starting to hurt a little - I think I'll just wait until the last part, the second half of the night, when the gore quotient is a little lower. The bench here is nice and comfy.

A couple of women with a service dog just walked into the showing for Brotherhood of the Wolf. "Oh, he'll love it. He'll probably bark." I am amused.

Roast lamb in Creme de menthe, with cream/mustard/garlic/wine sauce (Ah! my eyes!).
Scalloped potatoes (I've cooked them twice now, and they're a specialty).
Asparagus (which Lori refused to even try! pout)

The wine I was using for the sauce surprised me. Last night we pretty much just grabbed the cheapest wine we could find (while still not utilizing wine-in-a-box), and I sipped for the hell of it, and liked it! Usually, I'm not a big fan of wines - they're too dry, or whatever, but I liked this one. Wow. Of course, my common sense was hollering in the back of my head about still being sick and stuff, but between the cooking and the pop-up videos, I was quite content to ignore it.

It's snowing, I'm tired, someone else is cleaning up the kitchen. Yay me!
