In for Supper
Jun. 10th, 2002 07:23 pmFeelin' a little better - I vegged out for most of the day, read one of my cookbook finds from the Booksale: a 70's era guide to food preservation. The author's very opinionated about which methods work with which foods - if she thinks it's a pointless procedure, such as freezing okra (which makes it all slimy and nasty) she tells you so and doesn't detail it. Still, it gave me a good handle and some ideas on what to do with any extra veggies we'll get in the Market basket this summer.
And then, just before everyone got home, I got it into my head to snip a few of our roses. I ended up fetching Thor from downstairs, and weeded while he whined to be let in the house. The empty house. I got most of the front side yard done, which is reassuring.
On another note, there's a spammy Nigerian Scam running around in email. I haven't gotten it myself, but someone did... and then she actually replied to it. The transcript is just priceless.
