I have loved Legos since I was a kid. My parents still have two huge boxes full in their basement in Kansas. I've got a dozen Star Wars spaceships littering the top shelves of my bookshelves at home.

I'm endlessly fascinated by all the things people build with them - not just the huge sculptures at LegoLand, but the random Lego movies, the desk one company commissioned as a signing bonus for a new hire, and my latest find, which has me just squirming with glee: Mathematical Sculptures. I mean. Dude. A Mobius Strip. In Lego. How cool is that?

One look at my room proves the depth of my addiction to books. You could also look at my lengthening Amazon wish list, or just watch me when I haven't read anything in a day. I twitch. (I also twitch horribly when confronted by bad writing, but that's a different twitch.)

I wandered down to the B&N in the UVillage yesterday, to sit and read I Dare, by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller. They didn't have it (though I remembered that the UBookstore does.) However, the UBookstore doesn't have comfy sitting chairs. I can't afford to buy it, so I (rather belatedly) finally remembered that wonderful invention called the library.

Ballard has it. The other copies are out or missing. Ballard is practically on the other side of the city, and it'll be closed tomorrow. So of course I'm plotting to see if I can take the bus to Ballard and back on my lunch hour, for a single book that I'll probably finish by the end of tomorrow.

Whee!
