The Coming Darkness
Oct. 31st, 2002 05:46 pmIt's dark outside. I can tell, even though I'm in a windowless office buried somewhere around the kidney of the Med Center (The bowels are down and to the right from here.)
Right now I'm waiting for my files to copy back onto my external hard drive. I brought it in today to reformat to FAT32 so I could read it on a Mac, and to retrieve a couple of files to give to Merry in return for cheering me up with Nick and PopOdyssey yesterday at lunch, but it's been an eternal bitch all day. Ick.

Halloween/Samhain's a checkpoint in the year for me. Time to take a pit stop, sit back and start the retrospective that is the holidays, to remember and realize that while winter's just about my least favorite time of year, it's got its perks, too. Thanksgiving's just around the corner, Dru's almost home, and while Mom and Dad don't know if they'll be in Colorado tomorrow or next year, I'll be seeing them soon enough. There's still light in the world, even if it tries to hide some days.
