Politics and Intelligence

I have long held the opinion that Bush Jr. has all the intelligence of a small radish and the political acumen of a sledge hammer.

Watching what he's doing in Iraq (blundering around like a rhino whose cattle bird has just shat in its eyes) is only reinforcing my opinion. Not only that, he seems to exhibit the morals of a starving shark in bed with a back-stabbing weasel. It seems that a small group of retired Intelligence officers hold the same opinion, and sent him a letter about it.

Menage a Pirates

Oh, I'm so pleased. The little PotC fanfic I've seen so far has been lusty little threesomes. Yay threesomes! The two best are already series: Three Sweet Days of Rum by Sloane: parts one, two and three; and Malisita's And a Bottle of Rum series: One: Leading Strings, Two: What Do You Do With a Drunken Sailor?, Three: A Pirate's Life, Four: Not All Treasure, Five: Davy Jones' Locker, Six: You'd Make A Wonderful Dread Pirate Roberts, and Seven: And Not A Drop To Drink.

I think the only thing better at this point would be Methos/Captain Jack slash. 'scuse me whilst I find a fan.

I'm bumming around the office until almost time for dance practice, clearing off my desk and practicing my procrastinating skills. Oh, and reading fanfic.

This first one's for Lucy, in all its Ron-centricity: His Belongings by Penelope - H/R slash, It's hard being a sixth son, and just as hard to be Harry Potter's friend.

The next is one of those quiet character pieces that rip me to shreds with their simplicity: Herbology Lesson by Tess. I've come across it before, but its more than deserving of a re-read.

Oral History by Acadine hits me in the research bone: so very much of the Wizarding World is euro-centric.

Princess Bride by Allecto hits me in the funny bone: she's shoehorned Harry Potter characters into the Princess Bride in very howlingly funny ways.
