1. What books are your comfort reading -- the ones you slink back to in times of stress?
Jane Austen: Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility, but really only those two: I still can't stand Emma.
Mercedes Lackey's Fairy Tale rewrites.

The AUs: 1632&1633, The Peshawar Lancers and the Belisarius series by Flint, Stirling and Weber, in no particular order. I'd probably add in the Islander series, but it's waay to long for comfort reading.
There's a couple of scenes in Bujold's Komarr and A Civil Campaign that are just glorious, but I've got them bookmarked so I don't have to read the whole thing.
And when all else fails, I stare at my wall o' books for a few minutes until something pops out at me.
